Weekend Forecaster / Spacex Reporter, Harlingen, Tx

Job Description

KVEO is looking for a candidate to forecast the weather for the weekend newscasts on our CBS and NBC stations. The candidate will also report on the latest news from SpaceX Starbase three days a week. KVEO has an exclusive partnership with a YouTuber who specializes in SpaceX. The candidate will work closely with the YouTuber to host a weekly digital SpaceX show.
• Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
• Produce and present in-depth weather explainers.
• Write, shoot, and edit at least two SpaceX stories a week.
• Host a weekly SpaceX digital show.
• Writes web stories detailing the local forecast or SpaceX reports.
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to ad-lib when required.
• Superior on-air presence.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
• Strong understanding of forecasting and SpaceX.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
• Other duties as assigned
