Job Description
Nexstar Media Inc., America's largest local broadcasting company, is seeking a Vice President & General Manager to oversee KIAH CW39 in Houston, Texas (DMA #6), as well as CW39.com and the digital, mobile, and social assets associated with the station.

This is not a traditional General Manager position. This role will require an aggressive sales focus with the knowledge and experience of selling a CW or other independent broadcast station affiliate. The ideal candidate will utilize their proven skillsets and demonstrable experience in leading broadcast operational teams with sales-driven organizations, developing locally originated content, and commitment to community service to further propel our linear and digital audiences. Experience in developing and executing creative solutions for clients across all platforms is a must. Promoting a winning culture of teamwork within all station departments and prior success in maintaining a focus on operational efficiencies and growth in programming performance and new local revenue generation is required.

CW39 offers some of the most exciting programming in the market, including LIV Golf, ACC college football and basketball, WWE NXT beginning this fall and NASCAR Xfinity Series Racing in 2025.

Houston is the largest metropolis in Texas, extending to Galveston Bay, and considered one of the most diverse cities in the country. It's recognized as the hub of the gas and oil industry, as well as biomedical research and aeronautics. The city is known for its connection to space exploration and is home to the Johnson Space Center. It has five professional major league teams: The Houston Astros (MLB), Houston Texans (NFL), Houston Rockets (NBA), Houston Dynamo (MLS), and Houston Dash (NWSL). It's also a very affordable place to live with a low cost of living and no state income tax.
• Essential Duties and Requirements

The ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of management experience at a commercial broadcast television station with accompanying digital assets. This right fit will have sales experience at a CW or other independent broadcast affiliate. This leader must be a knowledgeable professional who is a driven advocate of local broadcasting and digital service to the community they which they serve and have a proven history of audience growth. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess a strong track record of revenue achievement, share growth and financial expense understanding. This position requires a leader with exemplary strategic vision, focused execution, and a verified understanding of local outreach and thoughtful community involvement. In addition to having a proven track record of managing high-performing sales, and news teams, the successful candidate must be effective in collaborating with department heads and staff members, while promoting teamwork within all areas of station operations, preferably with oversight of a large staff. The ability to engage local community leaders and develop long-term relationships with key station clients is essential.
