Sports Producer

Job Description

KRON4 News in San Francisco is looking for an experienced broadcast Sports Producer. The Sports Producer creates daily sports segments for newscasts and produces sports special programming, including KRON4's Sports Night Live, Event Pre and Post Game Coverage. The sports producer also produces and creates digital content for kron4.com and our streaming platform KRON4+.

Candidates should have experience in script writing, video editing, creating graphics and working collaboratively with reporters and producers.

This will be a full time, non-union, non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Produce daily sports segments, interviews and long form shows for broadcast and digital platforms
• Write stories, teases, pre-shows, cold opens
• View and approve video clips
• Edit video for stories and teases using desktop editing system
• Create graphics
• Communicate with reporters, assignment editors, directors, managers directly about sports content
• Communicate clearly with control room staff and anchors
• Create and maintain contacts with professional sports team
• Assist in credentialing and planning
• Work schedule requires weekend shifts
• Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 – 5 years' experience producing compelling sports segments in a medium to major market
• Demonstrated ability to use graphic technologies, digital editing systems, and to work with reporters and assignment editors on story development
• College degree or equivalent in journalism/communications or broadcasting preferred
• Must be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, and be versatile and efficient

Compensation: $31.25+/hr. to commensurate with experience and skill level
