Special Projects Producer

WLNS-TV is looking for a Special Projects Producer who can do the following:
• Put together local specials on a variety of topics. Most of this will involve taking content we already have and creating a special around it.
• Produce and create content for our digital channel, which we plan to launch in the second half of 2025. This could include working with others to put together a web-based show and/or live breaking news coverage.
• Serve as a fill in line producer who can help cover when other producers are out.

• Produces specials for broadcast across all platforms
• Writes and orders special stories
• Approves scripts
• Balances feature content to create compelling specials
• Edits video
• Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
