Job Description
• Reporting news stories: Researching, interviewing sources, and gathering information for news stories.
• Shooting video: Operating camera and audio equipment to capture footage of events and interviews.
• Editing video: Assembling footage using non-linear editing software, adding graphics, and editing the story to a broadcast-ready format.
• Writing news copy: Crafting clear and concise written reports to accompany the video footage.
• On-air presentation: Delivering news reports live or pre-recorded on television or other platforms.
• Story pitching: Identifying potential news stories and presenting them to newsroom management.
• Social media engagement: Sharing stories and interacting with viewers on social media platforms
• Self-sufficiency: Often working independently, you are responsible for all aspects of your story production from start to finish.
• Adaptability to different platforms: Reporters need to tailor their stories for various media outlets including television, online, and social media.
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Adobe Premier knowledge
• Minimum two years' experience in news reporting
• Superior on-air presence
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work any shift
