Producer I, Digital
This is for a Part-Time Weekend Digital Producer. The Digital Producer leads the transition from broadcast focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example; providing training in methods, processes and tactics; as well as in creating/editing original content beyond that which is produced for on-air.
• Part-Time Weekend Digital Producer
• Develops local sources
Weekend story planning
Pitches multiple, original story ideas
Crafts 3-5 original stories daily as needed
AP style
Writes local breaking news content
Assists with breaking news as needed
Publishes stories from the newsroom
Publishes stories from Nexstar Media Wire, AP, etc.
App alert stories as needed
Manages homepage using real-time data
Strategies strong SEO
Optimizes stories for search value
Crafts and schedules posts on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
Monitors local competition for story ideas
Cross-train to be able to fill in as broadcast producer
Experience with WordPress a plus
Experience with Google Analytics a plus
Assists with other duties as needed
