Job Description
The Executive Producer of Good Things Utah – the premiere lifestyle show in Utah - supervises news and lifestyle content across all media platforms (broadcast and digital) and oversees overall production of two plus hours of live broadcasts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for coordinating guest segments (creative and sponsored content); organizing live and recorded interviews, events and coverage as part of a cohesive sequence within a broadcast and for digital content for abc4.com and our various social media assets.
• Define strategic direction for content coverage to meet business and financial objectives
• Manage lifestyle news and sponsored editorial content, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking lifestyle news situations
• Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all media devices
• Manage the daily performance and schedules of lifestyle hosts, producers, content creators, and photographer/editors who are part of the creative team.
• Responsible for successful marketing of projects and adherence to budget
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in television or radio broadcast/production.
• Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, hosts, contributors, sales clients, videographers, creative services producers and managers, news managers, production and engineering staff.
• Detail oriented and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal, written, creative, and analytical skills.
• Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations.
• Utilize state-of-the-art television technology.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
