Job Description
Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri, is hiring a newscast producer. If you love journalism and the idea of running the show from behind the camera, producing might be your calling. You must have a passion for writing and storytelling. And it's incredibly important that you are a team player and a collaborator. The producer builds the rundown, writes news scripts, edits the video, creates graphics, communicates with the team, and times the broadcast.
What is Required:
• Take an active role in daily editorial discussions
• Select stories and organize them into a cohesive sequence
• Clear, concise, conversational writing skills
• Copyedit stories and spellcheck graphics
• Write creative headlines and teases
• Edits video and sound
• Adjust a rundown to add breaking news
• Time a newscast from our control room
• Communicate effectively with anchors, multi-media journalists, photographers, meteorologists, sports, digital, news managers, production, and engineering staff

Additional Skills:
• Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
• Willing to learn our computer systems and programs
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks
• Flexibility to work any shift, with some late notice of shift and schedule changes
Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
