ENG / Sng Broadcast Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented TV News ENG (Electronic News Gathering) / SNG (Satellite News Gathering) Coordinator to oversee the logistical and technical coordination of live news broadcasts. This role is responsible for ensuring all ENG/SNG equipment, crew, and transmissions are properly arranged and executed for smooth and uninterrupted coverage of news events.

The ENG/SNG Broadcast Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all field video in newscasts and special reports.
• Tune-in video from various sources and work closely with news crews, producers, and engineers to coordinate live shots for newscasts
• Receive and record video signals from ENG / microwave, satellite, and bonded cellular technologies
• Route and send video to other stations via satellite, bonded cellular, FTP, transfer websites, and network streaming systems
• Coordinate video for requests to and from partner / affiliate stations, including editing said video when needed
• Monitor strength, clarity, and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals to ensure quality broadcasts with consistent and uninterrupted signals
• Organize and assign IFB communications for field crew live shots
• Report equipment problems and ensure repairs are made w hen necessary
• Review edited video for incorrect content and possible technical issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

​Requirements & Skills:
• Technical experience with d igital e lectronics, b roadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum
one y ear experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment (More or less depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
• Strong PC/MS Office experience
• Experience with digital transmitters and other broadcast-related equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as news events require
