Director, Newscast

Job Description

• RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as television director for locally produced programs including, but not limited to: Newscasts, live events parades, debates,
• Manage and supervise technical crew during pre-production sessions.
• Code the daily newscast for Ross OverDrive.
• Prepare show rundowns with camera blocking for floor crew.
• Direct live broadcasts, using Ross OverDrive and/or TD operating a manual switcher.
• Coordinate with show producers during development and scriptwriting.
• Provide creative and technical feedback to production manager to facilitate show growth and flexibility.
• Complete Director reports after each newscast.
• May be asked to perform other production responsibilities such as Floor Directing.
• Position requires performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
• REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum five years of directing live and taped long format live broadcasts.
• Experience with equipment such as: Ross OverDrive, Ross Streamline, ENPS, Bitcentral.
• Familiarity with ENPS newsroom computer system desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise technical crews, direct the room.
• Flexible working weekends and holidays required.
• Ability to switch your own shows a plus.
