KLAS 8 News Now the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas is actively recruiting for a Weekend Broadcast Technical Director. This shift will be consistent with our PM team but will also require the flexibility to be on call as needed by the News Department.

The Technical Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Direct or Technical Direct Weekend Newscasts
• Coordinates technical control and production of programs
• Ensures quality standards are met
• Works with the news producers to deliver a clean visually impactful newscasts
• May also perform the following duties:
• Audio operations for daily newscasts
• Live operations (tunes satellites, microwaves, and other live feeds from field)
• Editing with Adobe Premiere editing software
• Studio Camera operations for daily newscasts
• Teleprompting for daily newscasts

Requirements & Skills:
• High school diploma
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations and production (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers
• Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and be able to multi-task
• Ignite automation experience preferred

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Technical Director must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Technical Director must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds over their head. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
