Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of sound production for live news, remote and studio broadcasts, and recorded shows. Duties will be production mixing, A-2, stage monitor mixer, and general audio needs in the plant, as needed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Setting up, testing and adjusting sound and recording equipment, adjusting, and testing the equipment.
• Creating, maintaining, and adjusting proper mix of sound sources in live and/or recorded production.
• Mixing for live news and various live and pre-recorded productions.
• Planning and setting up on stage for live music, dance, and theatrical performances, including stage personal (A-2), monitor or musical production mixing.
• Communicating effectively with the Control Room including Producers, Directors, and Stage Managers
• Keeping up to date with the newest techniques and best practices within audio
• Troubleshooting audio problems.
• Remote production audio mixing, planning and setup. Build console configuration, transmission and recording paths, create IFB and mix-minus feeds.
• A2 audio duties as needed.
• Set up and operate in-house P.A. and conferencing needs.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Must be organized and methodical.
• Undergraduate degree in broadcast technology radio/TV/film or equivalent related experience
• Minimum (3) three years of technical experience as an Audio Mixer
• Must be proficient in microphone techniques and all aspects of mixing and sound support for Studio and Remote Field Production
• Fast learner and adaptive to new workflows and key commands
• A detailed ear for EQ (especially dialogue)
• Trouble shooting and problem-solving.
• Ability to setup and configure digital audio boards with experience using SSL, Calrec and Yamaha boards preferred.
• Able to perform all duties under high stress situations and conditions.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Strong knowledge of production and recording sound techniques.
• Familiarity with DANTE and Madi.
• Knowledge of Pro Tools, Audition and/or Audacity a plus.
• Experience with music recording/broadcast, FOH or stage monitor mixing.
Compensation - $48.15/hr+ commensurate with experience and skills
