Title: Events Account Executive / Director
Reports to: VP, Sales
Salary: $100K - 150K (commensurate with experience)
Location: NYC
Position Summary:
The Events Account Executive is responsible for achieving sales performance, meeting, and exceeding revenue and growth targets for Nexstar's The Hill national events business. Will execute go to market strategies for the Hill while leveraging the broader portfolio. Will have overall responsibility selling events and related media amplification. Will work to ensure The Hill events are a 'must-buy' for advertisers across finance, technology, healthcare, and thought leadership in various sectors. Will achieve revenue goals.
Responsibilities include:
• Will grow Nexstar's The Hill national events business.
• Deliver sales performance, sales targets and growth prospects as well as monetization (pricing, inventory) opportunities, etc.
• Seek new advertisers to drive revenue and build sponsorship packages.
• Will have overall responsibility selling events.
• Develop and execute go-to-market sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets.
• Will have an in-depth knowledge of the thought leadership events and advertising landscape with the ability to build and expand events business.
• Achieve individual quota and sales targets.
• Will partner with agencies and clients directly:
• Responsible for selling the Hill national events; will leverage the portfolio where possible.
• Will focus on thought leadership initiatives and programs
• Leverage The Hill brand cache
• Build and manage relationships with key clients and agency partners
• Capture more strategic high-value opportunities with national shops/agencies.
• Create differentiation in market to drive leadership
• Create conversion & awareness
• Ensure pipeline management and sales goals are met and provide a point of view on how to accelerate growth.
• Cultivate new business and collaborate across the organization to grow existing business.
• Will nurture and enhance relationships to become a more advanced resource for our clients.
• Ensure a customer-first approach.
About you:
• 10+ years' experience in events/sponsorship sales
• Thought Leadership sales experience required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proven track record translating partnerships into results
• Related experience in digital advertising sales
• Established relationships with key agency and client contacts within the market
• Excellent communication skills, and ability to develop and present strategic updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful
• Exceptional ability to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships
• Must have strong relationships within finance, healthcare and technology
