NewsNation has an immediate opening for a Post-Production Support Technician to be a part of our unique, multifaceted broadcast operation based in our Chicago headquarters. This opportunity is for someone that doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves and do something few have done before – launch a 24-hour news network.

The Role : Post-Production Support Technician

NewsNation is looking for an experienced Post-Production Support Technician to support it's growing Creative Marketing post production facilities with comprehensive knowledge of Adobe's Creative Cloud products and experience, providing technical support to creatives in a post-production environment.

The candidate will support the day-to-day technical needs and workflow for our Creative Marketing team. Responsible for Adobe Creative Cloud product support, the role will work closely with both the Creative Marketing team and the in-house Engineering and IT department. The ideal candidate will have a track record of effective communication between creatives, IT staff, and engineering, providing expert knowledge into troubleshooting, system design, implementation, and continued expansion of the Creative Marketing Department.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide expert technical and operational support on-site for the NewsNation Chicago facilities for Adobe's Creative Cloud products (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop etc) to our Creative Marketing team.
• Provide support, coordination, and project leadership for other NewsNation creative and graphic element sites as they are launched, operated and/or upgraded, some travel is required.
• Partner closely with the Media Assets Manager to ensure workflow is efficient and optimized.
• Partner closely with other internal engineering teams, providing concise reporting of issues, and Production context to ensure the creative and technical needs of the Creative Marketing team is met.
• Work with 3rd party support to trouble shoot problems with AVID Nexis servers and StorageDNA LTO backup systems.
• Trouble shoot workflow and systems as needed.
• Document, share, and evolve best practices and 'how to' guides for our Creative Marketing team.
• Manage licensing and updates for software including plugins and non-Adobe programs.
• Provide technical and workflow expertise, post pipeline knowledge, and guidance to our Creative Marketing team.
• This position is onsite.

Qualifications:
• Ten plus (10+) years of experience in facility as an Avid and Adobe Premiere Technician, within post production, studio or network.
• Deep technical and working knowledge of creative software applications including Adobe Suite. Experience with Cinema 4D a plus.
• Working IT knowledge of hardware including workstations, components, displays, peripherals, networking, and storage solutions as it applies to creative workflows.
• Understanding of storage availability and transcoding formats
• The ability to elucidate technical issues, organize support requests, and close the loop on remediations.
• Experience with and ability to respectfully, but authoritatively, engage with creative executives and content creators.
• Ability to manage and operate in ambiguous situations and think on your feet to solve challenges and problems.
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to socialize, explain and promote new and complex technology, tools, and workflows.
• Extensive knowledge of content creation and post-production workflows.
• Proven track record of innovation, initiative, ideation, and implementation.
• Proven abilities to embrace, drive and enable change management
• Experience with instituting quality management frameworks and process improvement
• Experience working with diverse teams across multiple functions, skills, and locations
• Strong organizational skills with a proactive mindset, positive orientation, and outlook
• Ability to respond after hours for important, timely, or urgent matters.
• Ability to travel to other NewsNation locations on an occasional basis to support creative services, content integration, applications, and workflow launches.
• Team-player who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
