This is a Permanent Full-Time role based in Sydney.
As a Senior Producer at 10 News First you'll be a valued member of our editorial. You will supervise News Bulletins when required and have high-level control room and lineup skills. Your multitasking abilities will help ensure 10 News First productions go to air accurately and smoothly.
Functions will include:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of news productions, including supervising news bulletins and utilizing high-level control room and lineup skills to ensure smooth on-air delivery.
• Lead and support a dedicated news team, stepping in for the Executive Producer or Supervising Producer when necessary.
• Actively participate in editorial decisions, identifying and pitching compelling stories relevant to our audience.
• Write and edit news stories, produce content for digital and social media platforms, and develop dynamic bulletin content from concept to on-air execution.
• Produce news special events and effectively manage time pressures to meet multiple daily deadlines.
What are we looking for in a Senior Producer? What's important?
• You're deeply knowledgeable about current affairs and committed to delivering quality news content.
• With 5+ years of experience in a newsroom environment, you possess a degree or equivalent education in Journalism.
• Strong communication, writing, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure are essential.
• Demonstrated experience in control room operations, lineup management, and familiarity with news production tools and systems.
• Availability to work weekends and early/late shifts as required.
