The Role
We're looking for an experienced and highly-skilled Senior Technical Artist who is passionate about helping teams achieve iconic visual styles and building the tools and workflows to realize them efficiently. In this role, you will work closely with the art team and engineering team to author performant stylized shaders, establish best-practice asset budgets, and be a key partner in optimization to ensure players can be immersed in a beloved Netflix IP punctuated by frenetic action gameplay with a light-hearted twist smoothly on cloud.
The right candidate has expertise in lighting and shaders in cell shading styles as well as working in Unity's scripted rendering pipeline. Your technical knowledge and insatiable appetite to learn and to problem-solve will be essential in helping us achieve a high quality look on cloud. Your communication skills will further strengthen the close collaboration between engineering and art to speed up our pipelines.

Responsibilities
• Bring Art Style to Life: Work closely with the art team to replicate the stylization of concept art in game assets. Continued iterations throughout the project to push for better visual quality using lighting and shaders while keeping a close eye on performance.
• Sharpen Performance: Collaborating with both the art team and engineering team to level up our visual style even on low-end hardware.
• Own Asset Development Pipeline: Owns development of asset creation pipelines in partnership with art discipline leads. Sources or author's tools and workflows that are efficient for developing games in 2D and 3D software such as Photoshop and Maya.
• Empowers a Small Team: Actively builds relationships across disciplines (art, engineering, & Design), driving open discussion and research around new development pipelines.
The Ideal Candidate
• Is an expert in Unity development, in particular, URP
• Has knowledge of shaders and materials with graphic, stylized looks
• Has working knowledge of mainstream 2D and 3D art software
• Has experience supporting a cross-specialization art team in tools and processes
• Has shipped mobile software and /or games as a technical artist
• Is an insatiable learner both inside and outside of their specialization
• Excels in online communication and collaboration with a remote team
• Has experience creating amazing art on legacy platforms (Switch, Mobile, etc..)

• Experience authoring tools to speed up art production pipeline
• Experience building tools for emergent platform

Location:

• Will consider remote applicants who are willing to travel for work related events and work a PST-oriented dev team schedule.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $90,000 - $600,000.
