This role is part of the Exploration and Troubleshooting team, a crucial part of our Observability engineering group. Observability engineering provides the platform and suite of products that allow Netflix engineers to understand how and what their services are doing in real-time, detect anomalies in system health, and troubleshoot and remediate problems.
In your role, you will work across this suite of products to deliver a best-in-class observability experience to all of Netflix engineering, shape the foundational services relied upon by 3,500 technical engineers, and combine numerous observability signals into usable, actionable insights. You will particularly be focussing on the UI for our metrics product, Atlas.
Skills/Qualifications
• Experience: You have 8+ years of experience working in the software industry with at least 6+ years of frontend experience.
• UI/UX Design: You have a strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and a passion for creating intuitive user interfaces.
• React/TypeScript Expertise: Proficiency in building scalable and maintainable applications using React and TypeScript.
• Backend for Frontends: You are proficient in designing, building, and operating API layers that support various front-end user experiences. Preferably, you have experience with GraphQL and Node.js.
• Exposure to backend technologies: You have past experience working with backend tech stack yourself and easily collaborate with backend engineers to design scalable and maintainable systems.
• Testing: Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Jest/Vitest, Testing Library).
• Experience with Documentation: Skilled in structuring documentation and possessing good writing skills.
