The Role

As a senior game engineer, you are a crucial contributor to one of our new game initiatives. As an expert in game engineering, you deliver complex game features with high-quality, extendable, and stable code. You'll work from our Helsinki office or your Helsinki home with a team that has a hybrid working style.

The ideal engineer for this role highly values seeing a project through from the start of development into release and onward through live development. They are driven to improve team processes, reactive to the concerns of players and stakeholders across the organization, and able to balance innovation risks and opportunities against release schedules and ambitious project scope.

Responsibilities
• Build gameplay features and systems, with a focus on UI-centric gaming experiences
• Fix issues and maintain the quality of the codebase
• Take ownership over features and tasks
• Provide input on technical matters
• Collaborate with other stakeholders on game ideas, design, gameplay, and features
• Resolve performance and stability issues
• Create and maintain relevant technical documentation

Preferred Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
• Experience in web front-end development
• Understanding of mobile software platforms (iOS, Android)
• Experience in professional, team-based software development with shipped product(s) and having worked on a live product
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Proactive, self-starter mentality and a can-do attitude
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English
