Senior Engineering Manager - Data Platform

To help Netflix continue to innovate on its products and grow its member base beyond 300 million, the Data Platform team has a strategic Northstar goal to build well-connected, scalable, and robust data ecosystems that help the business be more connected and drive more insights across all product domains at Netflix.

We are expanding our Data Platform engineering team in Warsaw to accelerate expanding our data platform product offerings and strengthening our foundational infrastructure to meet the fast-growing business needs.

We are looking for a strong seasoned senior technical leader to build and lead a team of talented technical leaders and engineers in Warsaw and work as one team with the US Data Platform team to build the best-in-class Data Platform for Netflix. As a start, this team will own two technical charters: Data Platform product enhancement and infrastructure tooling.

What we are looking for:
• Seasoned Engineering Leader - A seasoned senior engineering leader who can lead multiple engineering teams via managers as well as working directly with high-performing engineers to achieve the most critical business impact.
• Technical Strategy and Vision - Has the ability to influence teams by diving deep to facilitate technical trade-offs and zooming out to understand the big picture at the same time to help shape the product/solutions effectively.
• Distributed Systems Expertise - Proven experience in building and running complex distributed platforms/systems that support high-scale and critical business workloads.
• Domain Expertise & Influence - Has domain expertise and passion in building data products and foundations for large enterprises and is able to positively influence the direction of immediate and adjacent teams through curiosity and informed opinions.
• Business & Customer Focus - Proven ability to align with cross-functional partners (like product managers) and stakeholders to deliver high-impact results in critical areas to meet business needs.
• Delivering Results through Execution Excellence - Have a strong execution framework to help the organization deliver timely results amidst complex business priorities.
• Talent Development & Inclusive Leadership - Experience in maintaining high talent density in software engineering teams through coaching and mentoring leaders and senior engineers. Experience in building and leading teams with a focus on inclusion and diversity and making sure all voices are heard to inform decisions.

• Deeply understand and align the team with Data Platform's long-term products and infrastructure strategy.
• Lead the team to deliver results and make the most critical impact for the business.
• Form trusting cross-functional partnerships, drive alignment, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet the business needs with a product and customer-first mindset.
• Build, scale, and grow a healthy, high-performing team of outstanding engineers and leaders, coaching and challenging them to bring their best selves to work every day.
• Work with the Data Platform leadership team as a first team to grow and shape this organization as we continue to expand in Poland.
