Job Description
At Netflix, we seek to entertain the world. We have more than 250 million members in 190 countries, reflecting that great stories can come from anywhere and be loved everywhere. Our payments teams across the world are a key part of this mission, continuously optimizing the set of payment methods that we offer in each country and investing in innovation to enable a seamless payments experience for our members. Their deep market knowledge and focus on operational excellence makes it easy for customers to access Netflix and enjoy their next story without interruption. And to continue increasing our worldwide reach, our partnerships and business development teams work with a range of partner companies from cable (KDDI), telcom (Jio, Airtel), consumer electronics (Samsung, LG), and app platforms (Google, Apple, etc.). Our partners not just allow consumers to enjoy Netflix on a wide variety of devices, but also reach new audiences via subscription bundles and partner billing.

Data is at the heart of our business strategy and innovation at Netflix. In the Payments & Partnerships Data Science & Engineering team, we provide guidance to the business not only through analysis, metrics research, experimentation, causal inference, and modeling, but also through exceptional judgment, partnership, and business acumen. These deeply collaborative efforts unlock millions of dollars of revenue impact each year through new member growth and improved member retention.

We are seeking a passionate Senior Data Scientist to help drive innovation and insights across our payments and partnerships initiatives in APAC. You'll design metrics, generate insights by scoping and executing deep dive analysis (occasionally with local partner analytics teams, Consumer Insights and Finance & Strategy), and assess incrementality of campaigns and initiatives using observational causal inference and quasi-experimentation. This is a high-impact position where your analysis will have direct and high impact on business decisions.

In this role, you will:
• Partner closely with leadership on our partnerships, business development, and payments teams on analytical problems, predictive modeling, and causal inference (including quasi-experiments) that drive key decisions in the region
• Design and evaluate A/B tests with local external partners to reach and retain new members
• Craft, prototype, and socialize metrics in collaboration with partner teams to help the business measure initiative performance
• Build dashboards and visualization that enables stakeholders to self-serve metrics and trends effectively. Actively socialize and educate, aiding on interpretation
• Develop statistical models explaining user acquisition, retention, and engagement on partner initiatives and devices
• Translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations for business or product improvement, and communicate these findings clearly to a broad audience
• Identify and proactively socialize regional insights, including those that may generalize to opportunities in other markets

What you'll bring:
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders using clear insights and recommendations
• Exceptional thought partnership to build credibility and relationships with stakeholders
• Strong statistical knowledge: understanding of predictive modeling and time series; ability to tease out incrementality vs. correlations using causal inference
• Strong knowledge of randomized experiments (i.e., A/B testing) and non-randomized designs
• Strong SQL skills and experience with distributed analytic processing technologies (S3, Presto, Hive & Spark)
• Strong skills in Python or R
• Data visualization skills to convey information and results clearly
• Willingness to learn and rapidly absorb business context in the complex payments & partnerships ecosystem
• Ability to work independently and drive projects forward
• MS or PhD degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, Quantitative Social Science, Econometrics or related field

What you'll learn:
• Innovation and partnership on a global scale, partnering with regional market experts to improve payments & partnerships experiences for members around the world

We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully.
