The Streaming and Discovery Experiences Engineering organization continuously improves the Netflix experience to delight, attract, and retain our members. We're responsible for much of what our members interact with when they use Netflix - from our streaming algorithms to our client and server playback systems to the UI our members use daily to find their next favorite Netflix title.
On our Core teams, we work on product features and UI architecture to power Netflix's Experience innovation across iOS, Android, Web, and TV. We love every minute of the complex engineering and product challenges that come with delighting our users at this scale. We uniquely sit at the intersection of Product and Client Infrastructure:

1. We bring the next generation of immersive product experiences to life in close partnership with several cross-functional teams.

2. We build the Client & UI capabilities, features, architecture, automated testing, and operational playbooks to enable teams to craft & ship rich, performant product experiences.

We have openings for both an Android and an iOS Software Developer in Test (SDET) on our teams. The successful candidate will have a strong software development and testing background, creating and implementing testing & automation strategies and tools to ensure a high-quality Netflix Application on Mobile.

What You'll be Doing
• Define the automated testing vision and strategy for Android or iOS UI - for our product engineering teams
• Influence Android/iOS app development and architecture for improved testability.
• Collaborate with internal teams (developers, PMs) to identify new testing requirements, and define & drive product quality coverage for the member product areas.
• Design, develop, and execute automation tests.
• Leverage and influence existing tools to increase observability over the quality of our team's domain.
• Stay updated with new testing tools and strategies and introduce them to our code base and development practices Help modernize and expand test infrastructure for better reliability and performance to support our culture of experimentation.

What We Are Seeking
• Proven work experience in software development in testing and automation, specifically for Android and/or iOS devices.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, automation, tools, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools with extensive knowledge of Espresso/JUnit (for Android) and XCTest/XCUItest (for iOS)
• Solid knowledge of Obj-C & Swift (for iOS) and Java & Kotlin (for Android)
• In-depth knowledge of Android/iOS APIs, modern architectural patterns, and the technical landscape of Android/iOS automation.
• Proficiency in building all layers of the test pyramid using standard testing tools and frameworks.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases, as well as manage, track, and close automation tickets.
• Ability to analyze data to gain insights for improving app performance and quality.
• Capable of understanding and operating within a distributed architecture comprising many systems and services.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000
