Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Content Acquisitions Manager for the Benelux region. The ideal candidate will have excellent industry relationships in both the Netherlands and Belgium to source and acquire licensed content for Netflix. They also will be experienced with various deal structures and co-productions and have expertise with quantitative analytics, negotiation, managing multiple projects and working to find creative solutions internally and externally.

Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
• Proactively source and identify acquisitions of series, films, and nonfiction content that will bring joy to our members in the Benelux region.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including producers, sales agents, publishers, broadcasters, distributors, etc.
• Be on the lookout for coproduction opportunities for Netflix
• Lead all aspects of deal negotiation (financial analysis, forecasting, commercial terms, drafting contacts and amendments)
• Acting as a liaison with various internal stakeholders (such as Marketing, PR, Legal, Operations, Product, Payment, and Content - within Benelux) to coordinate information sharing of the deals and address incoming requests
• Work closely with the other members of the Benelux content team to develop the slate and identify opportunities for enhancement or collaboration as well as creative exchange across teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally on strategy and execution with Content Operations, Legal, and Finance.
• Be familiar with the workflow from pitch to launch, including the development, pre-production, production, and post-stages.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in Acquisitions, Sales, and/ or Distribution roles, including creative execution skillset
• An in-depth knowledge of the Dutch and Belgian media landscape, including a strong network with both the creative community, as well as with sales executives, distributors and all relevant stakeholders
• Knowledge of the current approaches when it comes to licensing exploitation, windowing, theatrical buyouts, and investment obligations across the region.
• Experience with the selection and potential development of original co-productions, able to build excellent relationships with creative talent
• Previous experience with a range of content including, Content Programming, Scripted Series, Films, and Nonfiction.
• Negotiation skills for all deal forms (co-production, pre-buy, library) and familiar with all relevant terms and conditions
• A creative, curious and strategic mind to think outside the box and optimize structures and deals.
• An affinity for working cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
• Commercial and strategic thinking and experience with broadly appealing content for the audience.
• Enthusiastic about Netflix culture: our culture is unique and
• Experience working with a streaming service, broadcaster or distribution/production company.
• Fluency with Dutch and English. French would be an asset.
