The events team sits within the broader PR/Comms organization and is responsible for delivering publicity, comms, marketing, ads, and awards events. This Director, Events -
Operations, Advertising & Corporate Events role will lead strategy, production and execution across external-facing corporate initiatives and advertiser events in the United States as well as oversee guest operations for all consumer and external-facing corporate events. They will lead a team of experienced events professionals as part of the larger Events team.
The successful candidate for this role will collaborate across various teams to conceptualize and execute events that align with Netflix's corporate and advertiser objectives. As a leader in this capacity, responsibilities include defining the objectives of these events and overseeing their successful implementation. This encompasses overseeing all aspects of event production, such as creative design, venue selection, and managing the research, hiring, and contract negotiation with vendors.
The role extends to managing guest operations and communication for approximately 1000 events annually in the United States, including tasks such as ticketing, RSVP management, and ensuring a positive guest experience. Furthermore, the individual will play a key role in identifying opportunities for innovation and technology integration to enhance the scalability of event operations. Financial management is also a crucial aspect, involving the creation, management, and reconciliation of budgets and invoices to ensure that events are executed both creatively and within agreed-upon financial parameters.
Please note this role will be based out of Los Angeles, CA or New York.
What you'll need:
• Direct experience leading/managing a wide range of events, both large and small.
• Strong communication skills, highly organized, and demonstrated ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.
• Extensive project management experience with the ability to actively manage/execute numerous projects at one time.
• Ability to work well and lead effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Proven track record of delivering complex events on time and within budget.
• Flexible to working beyond conventional office
• Long hours, including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to travel (up to 40%).
• The desire to consistently innovate, proactively bringing new ideas to the table – both strategically and in execution.
• A creative thinker and leader who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
• About 15+ years of experience, preferably the majority of that experience at a network, agency, or studio, within events and guest operations.
• Proven track record leading and managing complex projects and bringing new ideas successfully to fruition.
• A creative problem solver with a point of view. Demonstrated ability to think innovatively - connecting the dots when others cannot.
• Existing relationships with guest relations partners, list management vendors, and platforms.
• Ideally has experience managing and mentoring a team, even at the project management level.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $420,000 - $775,000.
