The Role
We are seeking an experienced Creative Manager to help build and execute strategy for the Chinese Language Content Slate. This role will source, package and carry projects from pitch/development through to final delivery with creative involvement to ensure quality execution. Targeted programming will be focused on a broad range of genres and budget in scripted TV and Film. Responsibilities will include establishing and growing strong partnerships with creative partners in the market to source and commission great content. This role will also lead the execution of the shows working with internal cross-functional partners such as Content Planning, Physical, and Post Production. VFX, Marketing and Publicity.
The Role
A successful candidate will have a strong command of scripted storytelling and clear communication, a deep understanding of regional audience sensibilities, and the ability to guide a project from pitch/idea through to launch. They will be self-motivated, resilient, able to pivot when necessary, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities across projects at varying stages from development through to delivery, with unwavering attention to creative details at all times. S/he will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills by utilizing cross-functional teams' expertise and acting in the best interest of the company. This is a demanding position in a fast-moving work environment that requires a proactive and positive thinker who is able to take educated risks, exercise good judgment, and initiate innovations while working with a high-volume production slate and a diverse range of creative/production partners.
Responsibilities
• Source, develop, and package projects that will make meaningful business impact on the slate
• Build relationships with creators/producers for a sustainable and reliable partnership and guide them to deliver titles that will be loved by the local audience
• Work with internal cross-functional teams such as Production, Finance, Legal, Business Affairs, MarComms, and Product on establishing key schedules, optimizing workflows, and maximizing the business impact of each title
• Ensure the execution of a coherent creative vision for each title throughout by being an effective communicator to both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
• BA/BS Degree
• Mandarin speaker. Good English proficiency.
• Extensive knowledge of film and television development/production in Taiwan.
• Minimum 6 years experience with long-form production executive management both in the field and/or on a network/studio level for film or series.
• Ability to supervise several projects in various phases of production (from evaluation to production through delivery and launch)
• Ability to respond after hours for important, timely, or urgent matters
• Team-player who puts the success of the company before their own or even the team
• Integrity to be discrete and maintain confidential information
• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly in a fast-paced work environment
• Willingness to continue learning new technology to improve workflow and productivity
• Openness to innovative thinking and approaches
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask
