The Role
The Netflix Technology Services team is dedicated to enhancing the productivity of Netflix employees by offering seamless technology experiences. We're looking for an experienced AV, Audio Visual Engineer to join our APAC team, located in our office in Singapore. This role requires a high degree of flexibility and multi-disciplinary skills to tackle the variety of needs across AV Operations, Events and Builds. Ability to flex between AV operations, managing high-visibility events to design engineering for complex installations.
For AV Events, you'll manage the design, setup, support, and teardown of AV equipment and other technology. Coordinate with external vendors and work with regional and global teams. You will provide technical expertise for events and multi-camera broadcast productions.
As an AV Engineer, you have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with the AV Builds team and stakeholders to design and build meeting spaces and high-profile hybrid event spaces across the APAC region. We rely on Google Meet with Chromebox for Meetings (CFM) hardware for the virtual meeting experience and build solutions to optimize the experience. You'll be empowered to look for ways to optimize the conference room experience for users and partner teams.
In addition, the AV Engineer will be responsible for managing global conference room AV experience. In AV Operations, we strive to improve user experience in collaboration, communication and productivity by identifying the AV needs of users, proactively testing new technological solutions, and monitoring/interpreting ticket data to find and reduce friction. We then provide tools, guidance and support to ensure the best experience. We value quick adaptation to new technologies and the ability to implement them swiftly and efficiently.
| Responsibilities
• Leverage data to identify and eliminate friction or inefficiency in AV Systems
• Collaborate closely with the team to quickly recognize trends, pinpoint root causes, and refine designs to enhance stability
• Consult with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, and deliver AV requirements
• Create, maintain, and effectively communicate documentation and processes to improve user experience and promote self-service
• Vendor management experience required to manage vendors engaged for AV Builds, Events and iterative/ enhancement works
• Provide technical AV design, setup, configuration, and support for internal & external event productions
• Review and manage AV quotes and labor / crew invoices for large programs
• Assist in the design, build, and commissioning of new offices, conference rooms, event spaces
• Research and develop the best video conference experience from the ground up with consideration for scalability and rapid deployment
• Own Tier 2/Tier 3 troubleshooting support when equipment issues are escalate
• Provide technical support to other AV Engineers across various AV domains (Operations, Builds, Events, Studio) where required
| Recommended Experience
• Proficiency with Enterprise VC solutions (preferably Google Meet, but also Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.)-both hardware and software, and administrative fleet management
• Understand the contrast in APAC which will impact space design and usage. Proven ability in navigating friction stemming from design standards. Ability in making sound judgements to influence localized fit-for-purpose design
• Adept at working with the diverse cultures across APAC and adapting approach appropriately to be effective in cross cultural interactions
• Technical AV experience working in theaters, concert venues, places of worship, festivals and other large format AV production venues
• Configuring and troubleshooting audio and video equipment for live events and in a corporate environment
• Collaborate with external AV vendors for live events and working with vendors, suppliers and integrators for AV projects
• AV integration experience. Design and develop scalable AV solutions for events and corporate spaces with experience in physical installation and project management
• Designing and building meeting spaces from the ground up including acoustics, lighting, and technology
• Understanding of networking technology, video transmission over the network, and audio/video signal flow
• Working with Crestron equipment, audio DSP's and Dante/AES microphone systems
• Demonstrated expertise in working independently with minimal supervision; a self-motivated self-starter who can initiate ideas and take ownership of work
• Seasoned in prioritizing tasks and projects and upcoming project needs
• Open to international and domestic travel
• Organized and familiar with inventory management protocols
• Experience with the Google Workspace tools, particularly Google Meet Video Conferencing support and builds
