Wardrobe Designer (Temp)
Responsibilities
The Wardrobe Designer Manager is responsible for the selection of proper wardrobe attire and accessories best suited to help assure the optimum aesthetic photographic realization. The Wardrobe Designer Manager is also responsible for directing and supervising the wardrobe crew (i.e. wardrobe assistants and coordinators).
• Assists, analyzes, and consults with the Art Director in determining the proper clothing style, costumes and accessories that would contribute best to the optimum realization of the story/fictional character on camera
• Identifies and interprets the script within the context of attire, wardrobe, and accessories/material requirements
• Prepares a detailed wardrobe plan consisting of all proposed wardrobe/outfits for all characters/actors which determines the types of attire and wardrobe accessories required for each scene
• Provides guidance and assistance to the Wardrobe Assistants and Coordinators as to the specific look and attire required
• Schedules and assigns Wardrobe Assistants to certain actors and extras
• Modifies or alters wardrobe attire as requested by the Art Director and/or Director
• Analyzes shootings to effectively critique and modify the look of actors
• Provides the necessary training to wardrobe crews in the selection of new clothing/costume materials, designs and accessories
• Ensures all wardrobe items are returned to storage at the end of each shoot
• Works under the direct supervision of the Art Director and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios' infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
• Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment
• Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader
• Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum 6 years of wardrobe experience working in production of novelas/soap operas, fiction series, theatre and or TV; IMDB experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge in Managing direct reports.
• Administrative and Operational skills which include but are not limited to; budgeting.
• Exhibits working knowledge in the proper selection of wardrobe attire/outfits specifically designed for television
• Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish
• Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
• Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Internet search engines
• Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read & write)
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
• Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to work regular hours.
