Job Description

The Vice President FP&A serves as a leadership position on the Universal Studio Group (USG) Financial Planning and Analysis team, reporting to the CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance for the Domestic Television Studios. This role provides unique oversight from development to library of one of the major television studios in the media industry. Responsibilities for this role include financial oversight of the 4 studio brands rolling into USG (Universal Television, Universal Content Productions, Universal International Studios, and Universal Television Alternative). This includes managing both Operating Cashflow (OCF) and Free Cashflow (FCF) for the current year, the budget as well as the Long Range Plan. Additional responsibilities for this role include managing all aspects of development for USG including script and talent deal spending as well as all aspects of Management Reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Own all aspects of the financial planning cycles for USG including quarterly estimates, budget and Long Range Plan
• Oversee the pacing and reporting process for each month, quarter, and year end close with a close partnership with the studios segment and corporate FP&A teams
• Liaise with USG Controllership, Production Finance, and all the major distribution markets servicing the USG business
• Prepare and present financial updates to the senior leadership team.
• Manage all aspects of USG development including script and talent deal spend tracking
• Run point on any ad hoc analysis requested by senior leadership
• Lead and develop a team

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience within the Media or Entertainment industry
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize and encapsulate complex data and information to build financial models and presentations to senior leadership

Desired Characteristics:
• Previous experience within a TV/Film Studio or an Entertainment Development/Production area a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability to think creatively and strategically while handing difficult and complex issues in a corporate setting
• Team player with demonstrated experience successfully leading a team
• Flexibility to pivot on short notice from task to task as priorities change
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance strongly preferred; CPA, MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting a plus

• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
