Job Description
In partnership with the Director, this role will lead the management of the Intellectual Property (IP) compliance process on behalf of Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX). They will be the subject matter expert corresponding with Intellectual Property stakeholders on behalf of Universal Entertainment and Food & Beverage Divisions for uses of their IP in our theme parks, primarily the UOR and USH destinations. Ensures the organization fulfills its contractual obligations to the partners and that initiatives are executed. Leads projects managed by the IP Team to fulfill UDX brand awareness and business objectives. Manages the IP approval process for high priority projects such as new attractions, internal workflow systems (currently WorkFront) and process efficiency work.
• In close partnership with the Director, oversees team and approval process for usage of 30+ IPs on behalf of UDX by ensuring the IP Team is providing clear and detailed explanations for submission requests in an effort to get favorable approval responses from our IP stakeholders.
• Oversees the tools and training of internal teams to ensure they are adhering to the process and are aware of compliance issues associated with using IPs in their materials. Works with internal leaders to correct habitual compliance related issues to ensure required information is received and items can move forward through the submission process quickly and smoothly.
• Manages and supervises the teams and IP approval processes for select high priority projects such as new attractions, seasonal events and alignment of global initiatives for Entertainment and Food & Beverage development.
• Develops and executes process efficiencies with both internal and external stakeholders that make review of approval requests more streamlined.
• Works with UDX Legal teams and Internal Audit teams to anticipate and address trademark and copyright issues and concerns.
• Utilizes working experience with IP stakeholders to aid in the fulfillment of both their strategic and UDX's objectives. Project manage and/or execute key business plans and initiatives as directed in a manner to increase the value (tangible & non-tangible) of the partnerships.
• Actively participates in multi-park meetings and communications between UDX IP Teams globally including providing relevant IP partner updates and assist in cross-park submission strategies. Identifies opportunities for multi-park use of creative that is developed by one park that may be of interest and benefit to other UDX parks. Assist in further research on cross-utilization opportunities as required by theme parks or IP stakeholders.
• Collaborates with Director of IP Partnerships on strategic planning assignments including internal resource allocation and project workflow decisions.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 7+ years of experience in Marketing/Advertising, Legal, Theme Park/Live Entertainment Administration; Licensing or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years supervisory experience
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
