Universal Pictures International (UPI) owns and operates direct theatrical marketing and distribution of feature films in many locations around the globe including Australia & New Zealand. Locally in Australia Universal Pictures also holds the distribution rights for Warner Bros theatrical product.

Sitting within the theatrical marketing team, the Senior Media Lead role works across WB titles and serves as an additional support for the broader media team. This role is a key gatekeeper for all paid media and drives creative implementation within channel. Splitting films with the other media lead roles, this position has expertise in media, digital, programmatic trading and organic social.

Job Description

MEDIA IMPLEMENTATION:
• Owns the media briefing and implementation of media plans for allocated film slate.
• Drives long lead media briefing and creative brainstorm sessions with the agency and key media partners
• Forward plans key media channels and placements
• Sets media objectives and feeds into the marketing brief for media requirements
• Reviews media plans in consultation with the marketing manager. This includes checking:
• Flighting of activity
• Environments
• Costs & buying metrics
• Targeting
• Creative considerations
• Checking of TV spot lists (environments, creative allocation, durations)
• Review placement of key outdoor
• TV integration ie. toolkit allocations, sponsorships
• Head office reporting & creative allocation requests
• Provides feedback on full media plan to agency
• Reviews weekly TV and Digital reporting to identify learnings, efficiencies or action items
• Provides head office / marketing manager with media campaign summary
• Briefs in Exhibition 1st Party Data social campaigns which are complementary to our paid media activities

PUBLICITY INTEGRATAION
• Works with publicity team to deliver on key promotional objectives and integration
• Leads alongside publicity the Trailer break launch campaign
• Responsible for delivering Trailer Break results for allocated film to broader business and works with Social Specialist to benchmark results
• Creative content strategies & influencer amplification
• Collaborates with publicity to review any spend associated with Screening events / media promotions / brand content campaigns

CREATIVE CONTENT
• Liaises with marketing and production executive on creative assets and deadlines
• Maps creative content for media placements in consult with Marketing & Production executive.
ORGANIC SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS
• Drives the briefing process for allocated film with external social media agency, this includes ;
• Communicating social media objectives
• Outlining key publicity initiatives that need to be supported in social
• Provides an overview of ALL content that is available from advertising, publicity, head office bespoke social content.
• Provides direction on locally developed content requirements
• Outlines any key exhibition or partnership activity that needs to be supported or amplified in social
• Works with agency to identify any suitable influencers for content creation on our owned Universal channels
• Sets targeting and budget allocations for all paid social media activity in line with supporting digital AV and overall campaign weights
• Manages the social agency to respond to the brief and collaboratively develops a conversation calendar and action plan for each film.
• Approves all organic social media content before it goes live
• Where required manages the social agency to deliver premiere activations

Qualifications
• Strong strategic thinking
• Media or Digital Agency background – minimum 4 years
• Experience in digital / programmatic trading essential
• Experience in managing in house 1st Party data
• Analytically minded
• Media landscape, planning and buying knowledge is vital
• Experience in Entertainment Marketing/film industry desirable
• Strong creative thinking and eye for detail
• Demonstrate Initiative and lateral thinking

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
• You must have the right to work in Australia i.e have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• A degree in Media Communication or Marketing desirable
