Job Description

NBC4 is seeking an experienced Platform Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing engaging and compelling newscasts, showcasing your ability to lead and innovate. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of editorial excellence, knowledge of tracking ratings and audience trends, and strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strategic thinking, research, and problem-solving abilities are vital, along with excellent time-management skills to prioritize assignments effectively. You should be able to work independently and collaborate seamlessly with anchors, directors, and other team members on newscast production.

Collaboration is key as the Platform Manager will partner with our digital team to create content across all NBC4 platforms. Your expertise in producing large-scale breaking news and strong news judgment and writing skills will be crucial for success in this role. Along with your daily responsibilities, the Platform Manager be responsible for producing content for special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:
• Produce newscasts for linear and streaming channels, as needed and assigned
• Write and edit content for broadcast & all platforms, as needed
• Responsible for writing compelling teases
• Gather and curate news content to maintain a dynamic and engaging newscast
• Actively participate in editorial meetings, contributing innovative and enterprise story ideas that reflect the interests and concerns of our audience
• Collaborate with Executive Producers and fellow Show Producers to provide comprehensive local news coverage that is both fair and accurate

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience producing a daily newscast in a major market
• Strong experience with writing, producing, and desktop editing
• Proficiency in newsroom production software and broadcast technology
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Desired Characteristics:
• Deep knowledge of and interest in current events, politics, and pop culture
• Experience working in the Los Angeles news market
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms
• Pioneering spirit with a desire to learn emerging technologies and invent the future
• Stay connected with local news in our communities through emails, social media, and news releases

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000
