Job Description

NBC4 Los Angeles is looking for a Content Producer to collaborate with our team of exceptional journalists to create engaging and compelling content for our broadcast and digital platforms.

Here You Can:
• Work closely with Platform Managers (producers), Executive Producers and Assignment editors as well as Reporters and Anchors to produce engaging and informative news stories.
• Must be able to fill-in produce newscast across platforms.
• Use your strong organizational skills and work efficiently to meet fast-paced deadlines.
• Partner with our dedicated digital team to create content for all NBC4 platforms including streaming.
• Take charge of the big headlines, create memorable stories, and effective teases.
• Play an active role in the editorial process by pitching story and coverage ideas.
• Be responsible for the editorial integrity of all stories including visuals and copy.
• Responsible for the factual integrity of all copy that is assigned. Will write, edit and produce content for multiple platforms.

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience producing or writing and editing for a daily newscast
• Excellent Writing Skills
• Strong experience with desktop editing with exposure to Dalet preferred but not required
• Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as assigned and when necessary to meet operational demands
• Journalism degree or equivalent Mid to Major market experience

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

• Bilingual in Spanish
• Deep knowledge of and interest in current events, politics and pop culture in Southern California
• Experience working in the Los Angeles market.
• Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms.
• Pioneering spirit with a desire to learn emerging technologies and invent the future
• Ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions and act decisively under deadline
• Stay connected with local news in our communities through e-mails, social media and news releases
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members
