Job Description

The Business Executive role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the central team overseeing the development of global Original Content projects. While reporting to the VP, Sales and Partnerships, this role will be working across all A&R, development and commissioning/pre-sale projects providing valuable business support to build the original content slate at the early stages of production in year and beyond.

The primary function of the role is to act as a business intelligence and support hub for the team, helping to provide commercial rationale to assist in the analysis of content ideas and titles going through the greenlight process.

Deal Management
• Support VPs in their negotiations, including but not limited to drafting offer letters (including talent, contributor and co-production offers), submitting board approvals and managing internal systems and teams on the pathway to achieving greenlight for projects.
• Supporting the financial modelling process, including helping to run P&L's and advising on various financial scenarios and structures for projects.
• Manage our standup comedy catalogue, tracking license expiry dates, liaising with internal teams on potential deals and opportunities, and managing and negotiating deal renewals with licensors.
• Manage end to end invoicing and payment process with partners.

Analysis and Research
• Collaborate with Insights Manager to research and evaluate market trends and provide a commercial analysis of various content priorities and sectors to support internal decision making.
• Analyse and review library titles' performance and deal structures to support evaluation and propose terms for new projects and renewals.
• Research and analyse comparable projects – box office performance, viewing figures, release strategies and audience trends etc.
• Maintain and report on internal databases and trackers.
• Research and look for new project ideas across all genres, liasing with internal content teams.

Relationship Management
• Work closely with legal and finance teams on the analysis of projects and the construction of financial scenarios and offers to drive negotiations forward.
• Proactively collaborate with various departments (at HQ as well as in other markets) such as content strategy, marketing, and PR, royalties, sales, operations, and the various distribution teams to ensure projects are executed at the highest level and in line with the wider business strategy.
• Support VP's in managing relationships with external partners throughout negotiations.

Qualifications
• A genuine passion to work with new content and talent, and the ability and enthusiasm to support across all genres from Film, Documentaries, Kids through to live shows and special interest
• A financial and legal understanding of content development and production
• Strong communication skills and a team player
• Extremely well organized with great attention to detail, able to think innovatively and handle conflicting business priorities
• Analytical mind set with commercial eye and awareness
• Results oriented – keeps to deadlines, achievement focused and works well under pressure
• Independent and positive team building attitude – solution oriented
• The ability to build and maintain strong and lasting relationships with internal teams and external partners
• Demonstrable solid knowledge and experience of multi-platform distribution of content
• An understanding of the current content landscape and industry trends
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
