SPORTS ENGINE / YOUTH REC SPORTS

This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine Motion, SportsEngine Play and SportsEngine Tourney. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Product Director for financial technology and ecommerce, this person will be responsible for understanding customer issues and project objectives so they can translate that feedback into technical requirements for software engineers. In addition, this person will manage the delivery of the work to meet our company goals, specific deadlines, and to meet our customers' expectations.

As a product owner at NBC Sports Next, you will...
• Become a subject matter expert on the products you work with and how they address customer problems/needs-technology that includes payment processing, order management, payment plans, accounting systems, and financial reporting
• Convert product requirements into project tickets and manage prioritization of tickets in your backlog
• Work with customer support to triage bugs so they can be prioritized and addressed by engineers rapidly
• Work closely with the product manager and engineering team to lead and manage through the Agile/Kanban process
• Manage the product team's day-to-day activities with the team Technical Engineering Director
• Coordinate product releases and successful delivery of new product features from concept to post-launch maintenance
• Run daily standup and other Agile related meetings
• Conduct UAT to ensure work is developed as expected

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
• 2+ years Product Owner and/or Delivery Manager experience
• Experience in technical story writing, leading story-mapping activities and product storytelling
• Demonstrate logic and creativity when solving problems
• Exercise judgment with respect to managing priorities, resources and risk
• Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills; ability to break-down complex problems and formulate plans
• Experience working in Agile software development processes
• Deadline oriented and capable of self-management
• Strong work ethic; demonstrated attention to detail; excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to listen to and understand business needs

Desired Characteristics
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer/information science or equivalent experience
• Experience working with fintech software, including payment processing, order management, accounting systems, and financial reporting
• 3+ years of professional experience working on small or large business SaaS applications
• Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Ability to investigate and learn unfamiliar systems while working in a fast-paced environment
