Job Description
Responsibilities
Job Summary/Purpose:
NBC News is seeking an associate producer to assist in all aspects of production of long form content for Dateline audio unit.

Job Duties:
• Contribute to production of original content for audio, including story development
• Aid in extensive editorial research
• Work with guests to set up interviews: prep host for interviews
• Participate in scripting and editing, as directed
• Coordinate with technical, operations staff and external resources

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Must have at least 3 years' editorial production

experience for a network or cable operation with audio

experience preferred
• Must be proficient in Outlook and iNews
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications,

English, History, or a related field of study preferred

Additional Job Requirements
• Willingness to and work overtime, and on weekends with

short notice
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19

vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated,

submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days

following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the

commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced

protocols if Company determines your job position

requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19

workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Strong writing skills; and an understanding of how to

bring a piece to life with scoring and sound design
• Comfortable editing in Pro Tools; willing to learn

additional technology as needed
• Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and

editorial judgment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
• Knowledge of NBC News Policies, Guidelines and

Practices
