Senior Product Manager (New User Experience) - The Sims

Welcome to Maxis, home to tinkerers, craftspeople, & storytellers. Our drive is to inspire everyone to make a better world through creative play. As the developer of The Sims, we create games and experiences for millions of people around the world and are always looking for new ways to inspire our players. Maxis is a place where you can do what you love and help others grow while doing it; a place where your unique voice can be heard and seen. We put creativity and inclusivity at the core of our work and don't settle for seeing the world only as it is, but strive to build a world as it could be.

Teams are building the next generation game and creative platform, Project Rene and reimagining The Sims that players know and love with even more new ways to play. We're excited you're interested to learn more about how you can join our team and dream big.

You will be reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Management.

Locations (Hybrid): Seattle, Redwood Shores, Austin, Vancouver, Toronto.

As a Senior Product Manager, New User Experience on The Sims, you will be working with a large but tight-knit team of enthusiastic industry craftspeople from all walks of life. You will test onboarding paths that help TS4 become more accessible, easier to understand, and introduce to the world of the sims. You will synthesize insights from market trends, UX research, and player telemetry to develop learnings and identify product opportunities to drive improvements to key metrics including D1/D7/D30 retention, and overall engagement. You will then partner with the design, production, and marketing teams to shape these learnings into product solutions that meet and exceed objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Research trends in our game regarding player behavior, ask thought-provoking questions, and identify opportunities to level up our own products and influence the product roadmap
• Collaborate with other Product Managers to be strong contributors to the Sims product
• Ensure that the game systems are built and optimized for new player retention and new player monetization.
• Collaborate with business partners to set objectives and key results
• Partner with producers, researchers, and analysts to lead the experimentation roadmap and validation of the critical business questions.
• Be the genre expert – build a deep understanding within the game team about the new user experience in competing titles, best in class mechanics and important product trends.
• Drive a roadmap to develop and test hypotheses to improve game KPIs. Turn data into insights and make recommendations for the game team to improve our games.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience leading FTUE or NUX improvements
• Demonstrated history of driving improvements to D1/D7/D30 retention, and improved monetization rates
• Curiosity: develop, learn, and improve our understanding of how successful games work.
• Influential: Though you are a key stakeholder, you need to influence to be successful
• Strategic: the ability to see the bigger picture and prioritize competing ideas
• Experience with data-driven decision-making processes.
• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of experience in a Product Management Role.
• Passion for games, especially Life Simulation games.
