As a Quality Designer I, time will be focused on ensuring that project deliverables are being completed on time through test planning and active participation in the test responsibilities while maintaining EA's high standard of quality. Additionally, you will focus on improving the operational efficiency of QA efforts by assessing current quality assurance practices and incorporating new QA strategies. You will work on department level projects and operational efficiency projects. You will report into a QV Development Director.
• Responsibilities:
• Your primary responsibility is to facilitate and execute end-to-end feature quality strategy.
• You will partner with senior development, production, design, and QV team members to ensure that we create high-quality features from both a functional and qualitative perspective.
• You will guide feature quality by analysing internal development & live player data, feature completing testing strategies, and conducting design reviews.
• Partner with production to improve feature quality through establishing feedback processes and explaining applicable suggestions on how the features could be improved for our players.
• You will be an important advocate for our 'Player First' strategy, and that advocacy will inform decisions you make every day. Understanding the end-to-end customer experience and can translate that into test strategies for a product or a feature.
• You will be a mentor to local and remote test teams to help them find solutions to complex problems and grow their capabilities.
• You will provide valuable input to the management team as you help set goals for the team and your QV peers.
• You will identify risks to the feature and overall project as early as possible, partnering with the development and other partner teams to help determine mitigation strategies.
• Propose and enact solutions to development process problems.
• Report progress, current status, and risks to your features through regular email or face-to-face communication with peers, managers, and partners across the organisation.
• You will work directly with QV Engineering and Data Analyst team members to provide a comprehensive picture of your feature's testing status and development progress, considering both automation and data visualisations.
• You will partner with engineers to apply automation and tools to improve the QA process, and are testing Value to partners.
• Once you develop an understanding of the game's features and systems, you can establish telemetry to provide valuable insights to the testing and development teams.
• You are comfortable sharing domain knowledge within the team; you find anything within EA that may aid in your job execution.
• You provide task breakdowns, planning, dependencies, and time estimates for your assignments.
• You can break down a design document and produce an organised and easily maintainable test strategy that can be understood and run with remote partners.

Experience:
• 3+ years testing on multiple platforms, including Mobile, PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox.
• 3+ years using game development tools to enhance white and gray-box testing strategies.
• Define test requirements, test plans, test strategy, test automation, telemetry.
• Must have the ability to understand/contribute to metrics, analytics, SQL, and data visualizations to guide discussions on risk, priority, recommendations.
• Advanced ability to use industry-standard defect and task tracking tools, such as JIRA, QMetry, and TestRail. With both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• An understanding of game development, interdisciplinary dependencies and associated development risks.
• Experience working within a collaborative team environment across many locations/time zones.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $73,200 - $101,700 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
