Quality Designer (Maxis)

As a Quality Designer, time will be focused on ensuring that we can build long-term scalable processes with participation in the test responsibilities. Additionally, you will focus on improving the operational efficiency of QA efforts by assessing current quality assurance practices and incorporating new QA strategies. You will work on department level projects and operational efficiency projects. You will report into a Development Director II.
Responsibilities:
• You will partner with senior development, production, design, and QV team members to ensure that we create high-quality features from both a functional and qualitative perspective.
• You will guide feature quality by analyzing internal development & live player data, feature completing testing strategies, and conducting design reviews.
• Partner with production to improve feature quality through establishing feedback processes and explaining applicable suggestions on how the features could be improved for our players. Focus on customer experience and can translate that into test strategies for a product or a feature.
• You will be a mentor to local and remote test teams to help them find solutions to complex problems and grow their capabilities.
• You will provide valuable input to the management team as you help set goals for the team and your QV peers.
• You will identify risks to the feature and overall project as early as possible, partnering with the development and other partner teams to help determine mitigation strategies.
• Propose and enact solutions to development process problems.
• Report progress, current status, and risks to your features through regular email or face-to-face communication with peers, managers, and partners across the organization.
Experience:
• 7+ years testing on multiple platforms, including Mobile, PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox.
• Working knowledge of quality and working with test strategies/solutions, test plans, end to end coverage.
• Must have the ability to understand/contribute to metrics, analytics, SQL, and data visualizations to guide discussions on risk, priority, recommendations.
• Advanced ability to use industry-standard defect and task tracking tools, such as JIRA, QMetry and TestRail. With both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• An understanding of game development, interdisciplinary dependencies and associated development risks.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $103,200 - $145,600 USD Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
