Job Description

As an Engine Technical Director, you'll guide the project engine team in building and maintaining both new and existing technology for the project. You will also ensure coordination of knowledge sharing between productions (co-dev, Snowdrop) including making sure to stay up to date with major engine updates.

We're offering a permanent position in Malmö or Stockholm, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply using English, our company's primary language.

What you'll do
• You will work with your team, alongside other technical directors to make sure the technology we use is evolving in a direction that is beneficial for our game devs and project
• You will also collaborate with other Ubisoft studios and external partners to share knowledge and identify existing technology that we should adopt, possibly adapt, and develop as needed
• A big part of the role is to ensure and establish coding standards and maintain efficient coding practices, this to enable structure and assess the technical setup and infrastructure needs to deliver the gameplay part of the full vision
• Anticipate technological advancements and stay up to date on market trends to define our best practices

Your team leadership experience equips you to navigate through challenges, provide constructive feedback, and streamline workflows.

Besides the above we're looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
• Experience in at least one full AAA videogame production, in a supervising role (Director, Lead)
• Professional experience in supervising/directing a team
• Capacity to clearly articulate and communicate a vision and strategy
• Have extensive experience developing, debugging and optimizing tools and technology for AAA game engines & infrastructure or interactive real-time simulations
• Have extensive professional hands-on experience with C++
• Want to find the best-fit solution to complex problems, finding compromises for stakeholders with differing needs.
