Who are we hiring:
The Data Platform Engineer will report to the Director, Data Architecture and will be responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of Madison Square Garden Company's data platforms used for both analytics and for the integration of business and customer-facing applications. The Data Platform Engineer will have the opportunity to work with data that spans all of MSG's business units and includes metrics for the Knicks, Rangers, Rockettes, and concerts held in MSG venues. The Data Platform Engineer will work closely with both Business and Technical stakeholders to develop solutions that establish MSG as a leader in the use of data to drive outstanding business performance by making actionable insights available when and where they add the most value.
What will you do?
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize components of MSG enterprise data architecture required to meet the analytics and production data needs of the business
• Partner with business stakeholders and Business Intelligence (BI) developers to define data requirements and ensure accuracy of all metrics and master data
• Develop and implement data models to optimally deliver on the needs of business stakeholders
• Design, develop, and maintain ELT required to populate data models
• Establish clean, robust master data for use across business functions
• Evaluate and inform selection of technologies to build and optimize MSG's data solutions
• Triage and resolve issues across all areas of MSG's data solutions
What do you need to succeed?
• 3-5 years experience with production level data pipeline development. Preferably within AWS
• 3-5 years experience DBT development
• 3-5 years experience with Apache Airflow
• Experience with AWS Athena, Glue, DynamoDB, Redshift
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Expertise in data modeling, ELT, SQL coding
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage with business stakeholders to effectively translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with AWS DevOps a plus
Pay Range
$96,000 - $160,000 USD
