The youngest of all the ILM studios, the India studio leverages the expertise and technological know-how developed over 40 years at Industrial Light & Magic combined with the top artists and technicians in the region. Knowledge and culture flow freely between the company's five studios and the global team shares tools and workflow allowing for seamless collaboration on all projects.

As a member of the Studio Talent Group the VFX Trainer is responsible for the design, development, and instruction of 2D training courses for new and current employees in all global studios, with a focus on ILM's Mumbai studio.

We are looking for a VFX trainer focused on 2D disciplines who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.
On any given day you might...
Deliver virtual technical training courses to ILM employees.
Create, evaluate and maintain technical documentation using Confluence.
Partner with studio leaders to understand technical training requirements.
Work closely with the Training Coordinator or to schedule and set up training.
Customize new starter technical training to meet the needs and goals of each trainee's assigned production.
Evaluate and report on trainee progress to the Director of HR and appropriate department managers and production supervisors.
Develop curricula and documentation for Jedi Academy and entry-level talent, e.g. apprentices, graduates, interns, etc.

You are informed on the latest thinking on training and development methods and techniques.
You are skilled at fostering relationships across time-zones, providing global partners with an excellent level of service.
If needed, you can step in and carry out shot work as required by productions.
You are experienced with industry-standard 2D and/or 3D software packages (Maya, Katana, Nuke, Houdini, Photoshop) or proprietary equivalent.
You are familiar with the G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Drive).
You have knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, Python, and C/C++ (desirable).
You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer visualization, or computer animation or related or you have equivalent industry experience.
