The role:

The Tour Accounting team at Live Nation is responsible for managing budget and show settlements for our tours and festivals, working closely with the Promoter team, Finance team and other internal teams across the business, ensuring all financial aspects relating to a tour are accurately provided and settled with artist teams and Live Nation global teams.

The Tour Accountant role is responsible for the management of this settlement process with internal stakeholders, teams and tour stakeholders, to ensure settlement and reporting timelines are met.

Key responsibilities:

Budgeting:
• Assist Promoters and Promoter Operations Managers in building, reviewing, and providing specific input where required, of initial tour budgets.
• Approve tour budgets ensuring the final version shows financial reasonableness.
• Liaise with all departments across the business, interpreting all information received to build tracking budgets (PLS) for promoters.
• Highlight and explain variances and reduce the financial uncertainty around each tour.
• Provide tracking budgets for forecast input.
• Provide actual versus budget review on tours.

Pre Show/Tour:
• Working closely with the Promoters, internal departments to ensure the financial accuracy of each tour.
• Discuss insurance with Promoters and if required arrange.
• Arrange per guidelines foreign currency hedging if required.
• Prepare artist deposit as required.
• Ensure withholding tax calculations are prepared in accordance with both Australian and New Zealand tax rules.
• Schedule guarantee deposit payments as required per contract and guarantee balance payments the first business day after the final show, if projections show the payment is due

Show Settlement:
• Working closely with the Promoters, internal departments to ensure the settlements are collated with maximum financial accuracy of each tour.
• Work with Tour Settlement Officers (TSO) to arrange and reconcile cash floats for tour reps at each event when required.
• Review venue settlements and assist TSOs with financial coding.
• Review and approve in payable system (Inspyrus) tour related invoices as required.
• Prepare artists show settlements and fee reconciliations for settlement with Promoters, Agents or Artist tour accountants as required.
• Work with VIP Manager to present VIP settlements and fee reconciliations for settlement with Promoters, Agents or Artist tour accountants as required.
• Ensure withholding tax calculations are prepared in accordance with both Australian and New Zealand tax rules and prepare PAYG tax certificates as required
• Approve and action guarantee payments for first business day after the final show, if projections show the payment is due

Month End / Finance
• Work closely with Management Accountants to submit tour PLS and fee reconciliations for lodgement at month end subject to month end deadlines.
• Review with MA's detailed reconciliations of any variances to forecast at month end.
• Review with MA's detailed reconciliations of any variances to accruals deferral reports.
• Work closely with Management Accountants to reconcile and work through any variances of the PLS to the ledger transactions to close out tours to closing tour deadlines.

About you:

Technical Skills
• knowledge of excel, 1-2 years experience in an office/support role with interest in budgeting, and accounting/finance
• Good knowledge of major ticketing audits and reports (Ticketmaster, Ticketek, Moshtix etc) is an advantage.
• Accounting or business qualification preferred but not essential
• Entertainment industry experience is preferred but not essential

Soft Skills
• Excellent communicator and the ability to communicate with a range of different roles/people across internal stakeholders and external stakeholders including artist teams and tour accountants – both written and oral
• High level attention to detail
• Ability to operate under pressure, with multiple tasks and deliverables to deadline
• Capable in building strong relationships across different departments internally and manage and develop relationships with external stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds and roles
• Time management
• Passionate about the music industry
• Proficient in the art of negotiation
• You are not afraid to ask questions and constructively challenge, to understand other perspectives and what you need to know to deliver desired outcomes for both the tour, artist and Live Nation.
