Job Description
THE JOB

This Capital Region Production Manager position is responsible for advancing, producing and settling live events primarily at the new Allianz Riverfront Amphitheater in Richmond, VA during the summer seasons, and at other venues in the DC, MD, and VA regions as directed throughout the year. Also to assist with arena, amphitheater and stadium events as needed.

The production department steers the execution, management and administration of production operation details on all 50+ events a year. In tandem with operations, talent management, and finance, the department plays a direct role in liaising with clients, event planners, performing talent, venues, technical and site vendors, labor unions and other key planning agencies to ensure success for all events both front and back of house.

In this role, the Production Manager will have the opportunity to manage and support various events throughout the year, creating new ways to address unique challenges and collaborating directly with internal and external stakeholders through the process. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced changing environments while maintaining quality and exemplary leadership and teamwork.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Liaison between tour production, venues and vendors, also known as the Promoter Rep.
• Advancing and obtaining presale technical information, including production needs, rider requirements, staging and capacity changes.
• Advance all technical, hospitality, staffing and rental aspects with tours, and manage all day of show needs with the partnership of venue staff and local vendors.
• Coordinate outside rentals and casual labor needs based on touring show needs.
• Coordinate technical aspects, stagehands, runners, security, backstage catering/hospitality, casual labor and rental equipment, with an emphasis on quality, reliability, communication and cost.
• Point of contact for touring representatives while fielding questions to ensure event runs smooth and proficiently.
• Day of show on-site management of concert/private events from load in to load out as the Live Nation promoter representative for the Capital Region, with an emphasis on customer (artist/client) service, adherence to time schedules, sound restrictions and cost containment. Includes tasks such as participating in the chalking of the floor for rigging, venue storage walkthroughs, dressing room assignments, vehicle parking plan and logistics, accommodating local and tour caterer needs.
• Communicate with booking team, ticketing team and venue when changes arise related to show times, stage production, or overall concert experience
• Manage a team of runners, production coordinators and production assistants throughout the show day
• Show settlement at the end of the night, including artist and vendor payments as needed, issuing company checks, submitting payroll timesheets and invoices for accounts payable processing.
• Maintain and develop vendor relationships.
• Developing and maintaining relative documents including production and site drawings, on-sale layouts, timelines, schedules and artist technical riders
• Maintain regular communications with all stakeholders
• Assist in managing technical production (i.e. stage, sound, video, lighting, backline, broadcast, labor crews)
• Assist in managing site operations (i.e. power, heavy equipment, traffic management, crowd control measures, sanitation, permitting and engineering)
• Assist with budget management and tracking of assigned responsibilities
• Overseeing multiple projects from start to finish, including presence on-site from load in to load out
• Ensure positive and creative environment for planning teams
• Facilitate proper interdepartmental communication and organization
• Follow up on all action points from internal and external meetings
• Assist in producing event debrief documents including settlement notes for finance and suggested notes for the following year
• Regular liaising with senior directors of production and managing director via weekly meetings, calls and email communications
• Implementation and adherence to Live Nation policies and procedures.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Essential:
• Ability to travel within the Baltimore, DC, Virginia market as schedule dictates.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Be a self-motivated individual who possesses a ''roll up the sleeves attitude'' and a ''hands-on'' style, as well as the aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Implementation and execution of all Live Nation policies, procedures and programs.
• Must work well under pressure/even tempered
• Ability to make clear concise decisions; sometimes with limited information.
• Detailed project management / planning experience
• Production management experience (3+ years)
• Computer literate in Windows applications
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Good time management skills
• Flexible work and travel schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)
• Strong people skills with an emphasis on competent and diplomatic communication with client, vendor and artist representatives
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology, information, resources and environments
• Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
• Tolerance of loud noise level in working environment

Desirable:
• Preference for the individual to reside or relocate to the Richmond VA area
• Experience planning large scale events (5,000 people +)
• Experience in stage management / show running
