Summary of Position
The primary focus of this position is to ensure residuals are setup and paid in compliance with applicable guild agreements. Responsibilities for this position include interpreting union agreements, collecting documentation for residual setup purposes, confirming receipt and accuracy of proration calculations, preparing residual estimates, and processing participations and residuals reporting.
Position may also assist with audit, special projects and ad-hoc analysis, as assigned. Duties may include gathering documentation, reviewing contracts and accounting records, and conducting various analyses, as required.
The Financial Analyst will work closely with the production, business affairs, legal, and accounting departments, so it is important that the candidate can communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the company.
Responsibilities
• Forecast, set-up, and report residuals accurately in a timely manner and collaborate with the rest of team as needed
• Prepare participation statements, as needed
• Liaise with payroll companies and various business units to gather proper documentation for set-up purposes
• Test and implement process improvements, efficiency, and standardization
• Assist in gathering documents for various audits
• Interpret and assess contracts for participations and residuals subject-related matter
• Responsible for special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel
• Attentive to detail and keen judgement to make sound decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Above average organization skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict contractual deadlines
• Ability to work pro-actively and autonomously in the role, but also as a team player within the participations and residuals group
Nice to Haves
• Experience in accounting, finance, participations and/or residuals is a plus
• Basic knowledge of union agreements (i.e. SAG, WGA, DGA, AFM, IATSE, British PACT Equity, MEAA)
Compensation
$69,000 - $73,000
