Director, Finance (Marketing)
Summary of Position
The Director, Marketing Finance will allocate, aggregate, and be the expert of all things related to marketing budgets for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. They will work across the marketing teams to establish by title budgets across the entire film lifecycle and aggregate data for the heads of Marketing. This role will perform analysis and build pro-formats in order to help the division forecast spend more accurately across the fiscal calendar. This is a high visibility role that works cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Accounting.
Responsibilities
Lead budget process for Marketing and Distribution:
• Create and manage departmental budget processes for Distribution, Media, Creative, Publicity, Digital, Awards, Conventions, 3rd Party Vendors
• Facilitate budget strategy decisions regarding allocation of budget by department, potential activations, and ranges of spends
• Work with Marketing head to create P&A strips for film models
• Coordinate with legal to identify contractual budget requirements/limitations and ensure compliance
• Track budgeted, committed, and invoiced dollars for Theatrical and Home Ent releases and Conventions
• Provide flash updates for current budgets on a varying cadence depending on release schedule
Financial controls:
• Coordinate with marketing invoicing team to ensure accurate coding and booking of monthly accruals
• Work with Accounting to set up budgets and allocate spend where needed
• Provide oversight on all allocations of spends that are applicable to multiple films
• Manage audit processes and coordinate with accounting and internal and external auditors
Financial Reporting:
• Create detailed monthly Ultimates for released and unreleased films for Theatrical, Streaming, and Home Entertainment windows
• Forecast monthly spend by-film on a GAAP and cash basis
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and longer-range strategic planning
• Ensure alignment on financials between Marketing and Distribution, and Finance, Accounting, and Content Analysis, and 3rd parties
Support:
• Proactively perform data analysis and present insights to inform senior management strategic decision-making
• Continually review and refine processes to ensure optimal efficiency
• Serve as subject matter expert and provide support for ad hoc requests
• Create effective dashboards, KPIs, and custom financial modeling tools to help enhance accuracy of forecasting and final spends vs budgets
Qualifications and Skills
• 5+ years of experience ideally in Media Marketing
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel, SAP, Concur
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented, good follow through, ability to multi-task, and work well under tight deadlines
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while following department protocol
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
Nice to Haves
• Previous budget management role
• Understand film marketing process and lifecycle (i.e. A/V process, key vendors, etc.)
• Experience using BPC or other financial planning tools
• Has created and worked on Purchase Orders and Requisitions
• Built out and maintained complex budgets
Compensation
$100,000 - $125,000
