News/Sports Multimedia Reporter - KYOU

About KYOU:
kYOU is the FOX and NBC affiliate in Southeastern Iowa and Northeastern Missouri with its main office in Ottumwa, Iowa. The station produces a newscast each week night that airs on Fox and NBC and maintains KYOUTV.com and related digital platforms.
Job Summary/Description:
KYOU is seeking a multimedia reporter to cover news and sports in southeast Iowa. This position focuses on creating content for digital platforms first and then adapting it for a newscast format. This position combines on-camera work with video and graphic editing and writing to create compelling and informative stories around news issues and sporting events.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Seek out and create content primarily for digital platforms first.
-Write compelling news and sports articles for website.
-Shoot and edit video.
-Present information on camera for both digital and TV news platforms.
-Repurpose digital content as needed to support TV newscast platform.
-Practice responsible journalism: developing sources in community, researching and fact checking information for publication.
-Other duties as needed to support newsroom operations and functions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
-Experience and/or training in journalism and newsroom practices.
-Strong writing and grammar skills.
-Knowledgable of social media platforms.
-Experience shooting and editing video in nonlinear systems.
-Previous on-air news/sports experience a plus.
-Demonstrated success in creating engaging digital conte
