Job Summary/Description:
KXII News 12 is seeking a dual-threat employee to serve as morning co-anchor and multimedia journalist.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ˑ Co-anchor 2-hour weekday morning newscast
ˑ Serve as breaking news reporter during the morning shift
ˑ Report daily at the end of the AM newscast and turn a story for PM casts
ˑ Fill-in anchor as needed when primary morning/midday anchor is out
ˑ Possess great live reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news
ˑ Help post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.)
ˑ Appear at various community events that may occur outside the normal shift
ˑ Serve as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers
Qualifications/Requirements:
ˑ Prior anchoring and on-air reporting experience preferred, but not required.
ˑ Please include a link to your demo reel in your application.
ˑ The right candidate will have the ability to anchor every type of story, be a strong and willing multimedia journalist, help produce the morning and midday newscasts as needed, write great copy, edit videos, and be a leader in the newsroom.
ˑ Must possess strong writing and information-gathering skills, be a quick thinker ready for anything, and have strong ad-lib abilities.
ˑ A college degree in a related field is preferred.
