KSWO, the #1 station and ABC affiliate in Lawton, Oklahoma and Wichita Falls, TX is looking for a dedicated Chief Meteorologist to lead our First Alert Weather team in Lawton. This area is one of the top markets in the country for active weather, and we're looking for someone who can't get enough of that. The successful candidate must be a strong communicator on-air, on-line and in-person. He/she must be well versed on the latest weather technology, be an accurate forecaster, able to train other meteorologists and passionate about being involved in community service projects/groups. The candidate must also have a proven track record of audience engagement on social media that drives viewers to our broadcast and social platforms. Job Summary/Description:

KSWO is seeking a Chief Meteorologist with a passion for weather, a dynamic on-air personality, and the ability to deliver a detailed weather story that helps our viewers plan their day and keeps them alerted to changing weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have
a proven track record in meteorology, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team. Experience with the First Alert weather brand and methodology is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Analyze weather data and prepare an accurate forecast
- Cover severe and breaking weather situations across all platforms
- Post weather content to station website, social media accounts, and apps
- Strong leadership and teamwork is a must as our weather team is involved in the newsroom and the community.
• Must have a positive attitude and be an ambassador for the station by making personal appearances at community events.
• Our Chief Meteorologist may occasionally have to report in the field.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- College Degree in Meteorology
- AMS and/or NWA Certified meteorologist is preferred
- Experience with WSI
- 3-5 years of on-air TV Experience
• Ability to carry up to 40 pounds in gear and equipment
• A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, is required
