Job Description
KSNW-TV is looking for a full-time Promotion Producer to join the Creative Services Department.
This candidate must be a creative individual who is able to shoot, edit, write, and produce high-quality digital and on-air promotions. This position allows the employee to bring their own creative style and passion to meetings and collaborative brainstorms. This person will be hands-on with the implementation of all styles of station promotions, working closely with the Creative Services Director to create image campaigns, digital promotions, targeted special report pieces, proof of performance spots, topicals, and PSAs. Strong editing, shooting, and producing skills are a must. Photoshop and After Effects experience is a huge plus. This motivated individual will need to be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines and possess strengths in writing, shooting, editing, and some motion graphics experience. This position requires a collaborative, forward-thinking mindset that looks beyond the project at hand.
The candidate will represent KSN at a variety of community events that the station sponsors throughout the year. They will need to work closely with the KSN News 3 team and support the Commercial Production team, producing high-quality commercials and digital campaigns alongside the Good Day Kansas team.
The applicant must be highly motivated, a self-starter capable of working well under pressure, able to meet daily deadlines, and capable of juggling multiple projects. The applicant needs to have experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with mirrorless cameras (e.g., Lumix GH5) and motorized gimbals (e.g., Ronin S2) is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Must be able to write, shoot, edit, and produce spots quickly from the first concept to the end product.
• Work closely with the KSN News 3 team to support TSRs, image, and topical promotion.
• Meet with various non-profit and community leaders to implement community events.
• Must be organized, able to work independently, and motivated with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• A strong knowledge of basic television production techniques, including non-linear editing skills (Premiere Pro, After Effects), is required.
• A strong knowledge of digital media, including YouTube, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Strong videography skills are essential.
• Work with the Good Day Kansas and Sales teams as needed to produce commercial and promotional campaigns.
• Able to fill the traffic logs through WideOrbit.
• The ability to translate and write in Spanish is a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
