About KPTV/KPDX:

KPTV/KPDX is looking for a Supervising Producer who will oversee the production of our 5.5 hour morning show, Good Day Oregon. This position will involve show creation, editorial decisions and management of resources. The Supervising Producer will work in tandem with the Executive Producer to grow ratings and heighten the production of the newscast.

Job Summary/Description:

KPTV/KPDX is looking for a Supervising Producer who will oversee the production of our 5.5 hour morning show, Good Day Oregon. This position will involve show creation, editorial decisions and management of resources. The Supervising Producer will work in tandem with the Executive Producer to grow ratings and heighten the production of the newscast.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review rundowns and scripts
- Keep producers engaged through consistent, constructive feedback and training
- Help develop leads and big stories
- Manage the production of breaking news and new content throughout the morning
- Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, field crews, editors and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast
- Line produce live newscasts, live breaking news coverage and live special events when necessary

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a line producer
- Experience producing with multiple live sources
- Excellent writing, showcasing, time management skills required
- Must exhibit understanding of broadcast, digital, social and streaming platforms in a local news context
