KPTV is a Fox-affiliated television station licensed to Portland, Oregon. Owned by Atlanta-based Gray Television, it is part of a duopoly with Vancouver, Washington-licensed MyNetworkTV affiliate KPDX.

Job Summary/Description:

FOX 12 is searching for a dynamic meteorologist/anchor who will also report for Portland's #1 rated newscasts. The ideal candidate has a passion for meteorology, can prepare and deliver weather forecasts and weather information, and also wants to report in the field on breaking news and breaking weather. The current opening is for a M-F Noon News meteorologist who would also report for other newscasts and for FOX 12's streaming news app regularly.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzes weather data and prepares detailed forecasts
- Prepares graphics to support weather presentation
- Receives news assignments or evaluates leads and tips in order to develop story ideas.
- Covers news in the field.
- Anchors and reports for FOX 12's streaming app and OTT desk when needed
- Posts stories to KPTV website and social media.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Meteorology preferred
- 2 years in a Weather Anchor or Meteorologist role at a TV station
- News Field Reporting Experience preferred
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring strict deadlines and a focus on team orientation.
- Skilled communicator, capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying messages effectively. Strong written communications. Creative, with the ability to provide original concepts, ideas & solutions. Strong listening skills for interviews.
